Phronesis Principal Consultant Peta Lowe presented at the Australasian Institute of Judicial Administration conference, Justice for Young People: Identifying challenges and finding solutions for youth and children’s justice in Australia and New Zealand, in Melbourne. Peta presented on Young People and Violent Extremism, a session moderated by Ms Mel Walker, Accredited Criminal Law Specialist, Victoria. During this session Peta spoke about the factors which can influence young people to adopt or accept violent extremist beliefs and the risk factors associated with young people engaging in violent extremist behaviours, including legal implications within the Australian criminal justice context.
