How about we invest in community organisations who actually work with the young people most vulnerable. How about we actually educate and support those in the community who are engaging with children and young people, how about we actually educate and empower young people, how about we actually support parents and families with services and supports that are focused on helping and not reporting, how about we stop the reliance on law enforcement and start a paradigm shift to focus on intervention and diversion and not disruption, arrest and detention.

Phronesis Principle Consultant Peta Lowe, was back in Erbil to support the delivery of the Training of Case Management of Iraqi Adult Returnees in Jeddah 1.
Phronesis Principal Consultant Peta Lowe will be presenting at the 2024 AVERT Research Network Symposium in Melbourne in November on Youth Vulnerabilities and Responses to Violent Extremism, a very timely topic discussing the challenges and limitations in legal and policy responses to children and young people who engage in violent extremism.
Phronesis Principal Consultant Peta Lowe commenced a project as Lead Expert with UN Women Iraq, under the leadership of the Resident Coordinator of the UN to Iraq, undertaking a review of UN Engagement in Iraq and making recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of the United Nations' engagement in the return and reintegration of Iraqi nationals from northeast Syria.
